Happy Halloween, and Happy Hitchcocktober!

You didn't think we could go a year without Hitchcocktober, did you? Sadly, we are only doing one film this year due to well.. obvious reasons. BUT what a movie it is! This year's film is Strangers on a Train, in our opinion one of Hitchcock's finest See Farley Granger play the opposite character from last year's Rope! See a tennis match! See a double murder plot! It's all here, so join us!

We continue our series of tributes to the films of 1996 with a childhood favorite for anyone who's ever been a child: Matilda!

We speak from two perspectives: one who grew up with the film (Albert) and one who avoid seeing out of love for the book (Austin). From Danny DeVito's brilliant dynamic camerawork, to Mara Wilson's most iconic performance, we take a look at what makes this classic tale of overcoming trauma such a masterpiece.

October 4, 2016

Hello and welcome to part 4 of our ongoing State of Marvel series!

This time we pick up where we left off as we discuss Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, and the BIG one, Captain America: Civil War. We mostly talk Civil War, to be completely honest. Does it hold up to the rest of the universe? Who's right, Cap or Tony? How does it hold up against the other big Vs film this year? (Oh yeah, we go there.) So pick a side and join us for Marvel #4!

SPOILER WARNING: Full spoilers for Civil War, obviously. The others we just scratch the surface, so those are safe.

We don't into the Doctor Strange Ancient One controversy, not because we don't care or don't want to talk about it, but because we want to point you towards people who will do it more justice than a couple of white guys talking about it. To that end, go listen to Nerds of Color podcast episode #047: #WhiteWashedOUT with Friends of the Show Shaun (from No, Totally!) and Lexi Alexander!
